Ismail Kaya is a graduate of Graphic Design from the State School of Applied Fine Arts in 1981. He received his masters degree in Graphic Design from Mimar Sinan University in 1985, and worked as a faculty in Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, where he served as the Chair of Graphics Design Department between 1996 and 2003. The King Who Only Loves Purple (Sadece Mor Seven Kral), a book he wrote and designed was published in three languages by Aldus Publications in the Netherlands. He published four children’s books, won many national and international awards, and held nine personal exhibits of his work. He served as the Dean for the Faculty of Art and Design of Dogus University between 2006-2009. He then became a faculty member with the Maltepe University Faculty of Communications, Department of Visual Communication Design. He served as the Dean of the Maltepe University Faculty of Fine arts between 2010-2011, where he currently he works.
